Purpose

The Missoula Conservation District is offering a cost-share program for natural resource improvement within Missoula County.

Funding Interests

A wide range of projects will be considered for funding, including riparian forest buffers, fish screen installation, pest/weed control, bridge/culvert replacement, wildlife habitat improvement and wildfire rehabilitation. A complete list of eligible projects is available on the website.

Requirements & Limitations

The cost-share program is available to any private sector landowner with property in Missoula County. There is a limit of one project per person or group per year. All projects must be completed within one year of approval. Projects may be composed of multiple practices. Only on-the-ground projects are eligible. No studies or research projects will be funded. Cost-share rates are 75% maximum provided by Missoula Conservation District, and 25% minimum provided by applicant.

Application Process

Management plan, sketches, technical designs and/or maps with the location of each practice clearly drawn out on the map must accompany the application. The application form is available on the website.

Deadlines

Application deadline will be October 1, 2008 & contracts will be awarded by January 2009.
