Laird Norton Endowment Foundation

Contact Information

The mission of the foundation is to fund distinctive programs in support of environmental sustainability, protection, education and conservation.

Funding Interests

Laird Norton Foundation is interested in projects that seek to contribute to a heightened awareness of the ecological, social, and economic significance of water sources and watersheds. Preference will be given to projects that demonstrate innovative measures for protecting and restoring water resources and involve local communities and/or regional institutions. Ideally, such projects should be based on transferable concepts and, thus, help foster efforts that protect and restore the quality and/or availability of clean water in other locations.

The foundation intends to remain involved with American forests by concentrating on watersheds, rivers and wetland habitats. The foundation has recently added climate change as an additional focus.
