Culture, Politics, and Climate Change
An international conference hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder, this meeting gathers International and American scholars in fields such as Environmental Communication, Environmental Policy and Politics, Risk Communication, Visual Culture, Religion and Environment, Globalization and Spirituality, Journalism Studies, and Science Communication to explore intersections between culture, politics, and science. The goal is to enhance our understanding of public policy addressing climate change.
The conference will address the many obstacles and opportunities confronting U.S. climate policymakers and scientists. Presenters are asked to broadly consider how climate change is communicated and how these processes intersect with ongoing cultural and political issues. Comparative papers and panels that explore similarities and differences between cultures, politics, and climate policy in the U.S. and other countries are encouraged.
